Imperial Towers is rushing toward release! But March 1st is still a little ways away so I wanted to share another ‘writing soundtrack’ – albums and songs I’ve been immersed in over the months while writing or editing Imperial Towers. (Tomorrow or so, these will have links, but for now it’s just the images)
I’m reasonably sure this is the fifth writing soundtrack I’ve done (I could be wrong and it’s actually number 6) but here it is in any event, albums with sample songs of the music I was listening to while either writing or editing Greatmask 🙂
A friend introduced me to Hugh Masekela a while back with this awesome live performance of Stimela (The Coal Train) – have a listen!
It’s been a while since I did one of these, but here’s a few of the albums that I was/am listening to while completing the Never series. For some of these, it was a while back (last year actually) when I was working on #1 (The Amber Isle) but some of the new releases will […]
I’ve been a little obsessed with this song lately. I can’t recall exactly how I stumbled across it but I suspect it was thanks to the AWESOME Mysterious Cities of Gold – but in any event, I’m really enjoying the song. I was already a Neil Young fan but for some reason I’d never heard […]
Been meaning to share this for ages, some of you will doubtless have seen this already, but check out the awesome Richie Castellano performing all the vocal and instrumental parts to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody! (He uploaded the video back in 2011 and has been playing with Blue Oyster Cult since 2004.)
I’m a bit less organised with my writing soundtrack for Crossings – but here (for the more curious among you) are the albums I remember listening to while writing or editing 🙂
Here’s another writing soundtrack, this time comprised of the tunes I had on heavy rotation while writing & editing Sea of Trees. Among other styles, there’s a bit more jazz and music from or inspired by Japan this time around. There were a few traditional pieces I didn’t include here too, one of which is […]
Doing another clump of cover art because…well because it’s fun! So here’s the music that’s been on rotation for writing and editing The Lost Mask. One day I’d like to add youtube links to some of these but I’m feeling too lazy to do so right now.
Really enjoying US metal band Baroness at the moment, their sludge metal/rock is pretty damn great and I’ve been thrashing one of their new albums ‘Yellow’ while working on draft 2 of The Lost Mask (sequel to my debut novel, which you can preview right here.)But back to the music! I’ve only been listening to […]
